Birke (D) and Duc (CH) probably met in class but they were most circumspect and discreet. In this picture notice now subtly they are communicating via Fredrik (I sure hope that is what his name is, hee hee), who must have really enjoyed the Birke-Duc vibrations traveling through his body!

So, who can name all the folks in this photo?

 These two were always going somewhere fun and communing with nature. They also took trips with a group of select friends. In fact, after returning home, they continue to unite with Fabio (CH), Gilbert (NL) & Antje (D) and Isolde (D) to ring in the New Year (it takes them several days to do this).

Why "mystery"? Because all year Birke and Duc belonged to a close group of friends but didn't appear to be a couple. Then all of a sudden, they definitely were. But when and how the defining moment came about, only a select few know. Here are Duc's words on the matter:

Sorry that I haven't sent you OUR story. It's kind of difficult to explain, but Birke and I discussed this several times and came to the conclusion to let YOU or John O. tell our story --at least as far as you can remember the rumours etc. You know, there are just three or four people who are aware of how the spark came to fire and how we both started our - I must say WONDERFUL- friendship. It's like a little but well-kept secret, and to be honest, I don't want to share this secret with too many people. Please don't be disappointed...

OK, Birke and Duc, we respect your privacy, but whatever made you think that, if you told ME, anyone else would ever find out???
