Nicole Kasseroler (A) and Daniel Eggenschwiler (CH) are "still together after all these years". Niki tells their story below:

Christmas Party 1997, to be exact, 10th of December 1997: celebrated at Rocky's after the Christmas Play (which was, by the way, fabulous). Daniel and I already had met each other and had been chatting, when suddenly Karine (my Brazilian roommate) showed up with her video camera (which was constantly attached to her hand during parties). She was filming us, when she said: "Hey, my favourite couple! I want to see a kiss!" Daniel looked at me and......! Well, you know the rest. We kissed and we have been together ever since.

After the LY year was over, I flew home on my 20th birthday (DeeDee could not change it to one day later, altough I begged her not to send me home on my birthday). Daniel had to serve in the military for 4 months in Switzerland. We talked on the phone every day. And every 2nd weekend I went to visit him by train (a 10-hour ride overnight!!! what a nightmare!!). In the meantime I got a job at a tour operator in Vienna (I am still working for the same company!). When Daniel was finished with his service, I did not want to quit the job, so it was pretty soon that we figured it would be better if Daniel moved to Vienna. He did and we moved into a small apartement together. Because he also has a German passport (and Germany is part of the European Community), it was pretty easy for him to get a work permit.

After more than a year in Austria, we decided to move to Switzerland. I could transfer from within company because the headquarters is in Zurich and Daniel got a sales job with SwissAir in the technical departement. We moved to Zurich on the 1st of March 2000. We rented a truck and drove 11 hours from Vienna to Zurich overnight. Now we are already here for a year and still it feels like only weeks. I have to admit though, that I miss my family. But because Daniel is working for Swissair, we can fly pretty inexpensively. So I try to go home once every 2 months at least. Well, that's it! We are still happy!!!
