After I graduated from EF I was admitted into a Master of Law program at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, CA. The program included a pre- internship in Salzburg, Austria, so I spent that summer studying and mainly having fun in Austria. When I came back to the States, I spent three months in San Francisco working for a Law firm as part of my internship. Then I moved to Sacramento for six months to finish my studies.
After I graduated I lived in Guam for a while. I came back to the States six months later. I worked at a translation company in Houston, Texas and a year later I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. I worked for Colorado State University and applied for a Master of Science in Environmental and Radiological Health Science with a specialty in Radiochemistry. I was admitted, took my classes, did an internship and wrote a paper about the separation of americium, plutonium, uranium and thorium in soil samples at the Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring and Research Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
By the way, I've obtained my U.S. citizenship in February of 2003. The ceremony was
beautiful and took place in Denver.
Last September I passed my final exam. Now, I live in Berkeley, a little university town on the east side of the San Francisco Bay, full of life and cultural diversity.
It's funny: the first time I visited San Francisco was with EF in 95. I never thought I would be watching the city from work every day. I work for the Department of Energy. My office is located on top of the Berkeley hills and the view of San Francisco, the Golden Gate and the Bay is breathtaking.
