Santa Barbara was the time for me to realize that there's more in the world than just my little old hometown Therwil and the other cities. I know this time was a gift and I keep it deep in my heart forever. I grew a lot while I tried to learn English, while I got to know other people from other coutries with different languages and personalities, while I started to travel, while I lived with my host-family. This stay abroad touched my life in a positive way and I would do it again.

After I returned to Switzerland I had no clue what to do. I saw and experienced so much this year in Santa Barbara and in other states so that my hometown seemed so little to me, with no challenges, with nothing to experience. Adapting to life back in my hometown was a challenge.

Well, I started a couple of different jobs in the commercial area, then I found a seasonal job in Arosa, where I worked at the réception. We had lots of sun, nice and not-so-nice guests and snow. Therefore I had the chance to go skiiing and to do lots more other things.

Back home in Therwil I worked at Hofmann-La Rôche in Basel for 6 months. This environment was not the one I really loved. I still hadn't found my real profession..... I went on and on....and found fortunately a job at an IT Company where I stayed 5 years. I worked there as an executive assistant and was really happy. I had a marvellous boss and the company was healthy and young.... time can change.... and so it was.

The company got sold and I had to struggle finding a new job. During this time I started training as a Fitness and Wellness Instructor. It took lots of energy. I changed my field of business. Now I'm so happy and content that I went in this direction. Now I have the possibility to do my first profession together with my second profession.

Right now, I'm working as a physiotherapist and administrative asisstant with the Medical Fitness Team in Basel. My passion is Nia. In July 2005 I started my training as a Nia teacher and I now have my own classes to teach in Basel. Nia is a technique to move your body in a healthy and personal way. It gives you new perspectives in your life because you move your body in your own way. Soon I will have finished my Nia website; there you will be able to read more about Nia, me, my classes and its purpose.
