Whitney, our new school director, had a brilliant idea. Why not treat the hard-working, dedicated EF teachers and staff to a much deserved MYSTERY TOUR? We got to speculate for days about where we would be taken.

We took this excursion on a gorgeous, sunny day on a late February Wednesday, all of our classes having been cancelled for that day. Yup, there really were student complaints about missed lessons, but I managed to convince mine that teachers need enhancing at least twice a year!

We were taken over San Marcos Pass...to Lake Cachuma for a day of fishing on the lake? No, we drove on by the lake and the next thing we knew, we were in sunny downtown Solvang...for strolling around the town, windowshopping and gorging on sweets? Nope, we drove right on through.

Back out in horse country, we were convinced that we would soon be saddling up Old Paint and going for a nice daylong horseback ride along romantic trails. Or maybe we'd even go hang gliding at the Santa Ynez airport, but no, we had already passed that venue, so what could this MYSTERY TOUR involve?
